Yarn Along 3

Wednesday completely took me by surprise last week so I totally missed yarn along. I’m glad to be back this week though!

After knitting Meg’s pixie hat for a friend as a baby shower gift (how did I forget to take a picture of it!?!?) I was inspired to make a larger version for Luke. A much larger version. I need to stick to knitting smaller things because this has been a test of my patience to be certain!

I was contemplating making Mary a matching one but now I’m thinking once this is done I’m going to knit something small… like a bird.

As far as books go I have been reading The Dugars: 20 and Counting this week. I have been enjoying it so far and have managed to glean a few helpful hints for managing our home and money as well.

I just finished reading The Virgin’s Daughters: In the Court of Elizabeth I which I borrowed as an ebook from our library. It was definitely not my normal novel but I enjoyed it quite a lot (despite the couple scandalizing passages!). I have a feeling many more novels about the Tudors will be in my library pile soon. Except that I need to not have a novel for a little while. I have no self control when it comes to books and read when I should be doing many other things.

Mary and I have been reading Pascual and the Kitchen Angels by Tomie dePaola this week, have you read it? If you have young children it is SUCH a good book! It deserves a post of it’s own which will come soon. 🙂

  1. Can't wait to see more of your pixie hat and what a lovely color of yarn. I just love the blue 🙂 Sounds like the novel you finished was really good! I loved reading the Duggar's book to. Such an amazing family and you've got to love how smoothly Michelle keeps the home running with all those children 🙂
